We are a small group of Parents Carers living within the Square Mile. Our children have a range of conditions and we believe that it is vital to have a diverse range of parents and family care givers involved in the forum so we are able to confidently represent families within the City of London.
Our meetings are relaxed, we try to have a friendly balance of formal and informal elements. We usually meet once a month (over coffee or breakfast) for a few hours to share our experiences and views and discuss how we can make a difference and improve services for the SEND community in our area of London.
We are developing an ongoing Co-production framework with the Local Authority and the NHS enabling better outcomes for all our children, young people and their families.
The demands of being a parent carer can sometimes be overwhelming and this is often made worse by services that fail to support our family needs. Get Involved
Parent and Carers
Membership to the Parent Carer Forum is Free and new members are very welcome.
Our aim is to represent the needs of as many parents and carers with children and young people with special needs as possible within the City of London area. All carers welcome including foster parents, adoptive parents, and grandparents.
Participation comes in many forms and only ask you to give what you feel you can manage as we know life gets busy. If you can’t spare much time at the moment but want to join our forum, it might be that we just keep you informed on what’s going on within SEND. If you can spare some time, you can pick and choose what’s most important to you and join in the things that you want to. Alternatively, you might want to share your experience via a coffee morning or by completing a survey. You might want to get more involved by joining our lovely group of parent/carers who get more involved in the strategic planning of the forum, and of course, that would be welcomed.

Volunteer your time
If you do have a bit more time on your hand, we welcome volunteers from a wide range of ages and different walks of life who can donate a small amount of their time to help us manage the many activities and events that the forum organise. We need all kinds of skills! … and if you have a story and wish to write a blog related to living and/or working with SEND, we would be happy to host it in our web site.
